Dorathy “Dot” Hackathorn

Dorathy “Dot” Hackathorn, 85, of Cape Fair passed away  Saturday July 30, 2022, at Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett where she had been a resident for a year. She was born Nov. 9, 1936, in Granton, Wis., the daughter of George and Mildred (Walters) Warnecke.
She worked as a waitress, was a butcher at Hackathorn Market in Marionville, was an over the road truck driver and worked for The Osmond’s and Mel Tillis Theaters in Branson.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society and homemakers club. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cape Fair and attended Hope Fellowship Church in Branson West as well as Union City Community Church in Clever.
In 1953 she met her husband Edward Hackathorn and they eloped to Jeffersonville, Ind., where they were married on Aug. 10, 1953. They shared 55 years together before the passing of Edward on May 25, 2007.
She is survived by four daughters, Roxy (J.D.) Baxter of Kimberling City,  Diana McCaffrey of Monett,  Chris (Dale) Hladik of Rose Hill, Kan. and Mary Beck of Kimberling City; two sons, Kevin Hackathorn and John Hackathorn of Jay, Okla.; one stepson, Jack (Teresa) Hackathorn of Massachusetts; one brother, George “Junior” Warnecke; 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mildred; husband, Edward; two brothers, Bob and Pat Warnecke; two sisters, Sally Williamson and Delores Warnecke; two son-in laws, Jeff McCaffrey and Bill Beck; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Hackathorn; stepdaughter, Sharon (Albert) Smith; granddaughter, Nicole Glauser; great-grandson, Alex Scott Fritz and great-granddaughter, Emma Glauser.
A visitation was from 1-2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022, at Williams Funeral Home in Marionville with a funeral service that followed at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial followed at Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.
Memorial donations in her memory can be made payable to Disabled American Veterans in care of the funeral home.
There was a memorial gathering at the Angus Branch Steakhouse in Monett, immediately followed by the burial.
