DETROIT (WWJ) -- There's a hefty cash reward on the table for the person who can help police solve the murder of a suburban man in Detroit.

According to Crime Stoppers, Jeff Najor of Wixom was killed at around 7 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2022 on the city's northwest side.

He was found dead with a gunshot wound to his stomach inside his Dodge Ram pickup truck that had crashed near Braile and the eastbound I-96 Service Drive.

Police said Najor was driving when he was shot, he lost control of the truck, went up a curb, hit a light pole and ended up in a vacant lot.

Following the incident, Capt. Michael Dicicco, of the DPD's sixth precinct, told Fox 2 that Najor was likely trying to escape from the person who shot him.

Dicicco said there were no bullet holes on the outside of the truck, leading investigators to believe that the shooter was inside the vehicle with Najor.

Police said they also found marijuana and a large amount of cash in the truck.

With no arrests, and no suspects named now nearly a month following the slaying, Crime Stoppers has announced a $20,500 reward in the case.

The organization said Wednesday that $2,500 of the reward money would be paid to the tipster whose information leads to an arrest. The remaining $20,000 would be paid upon conviction.

Anyone who can identify the shooter, or who has any with information about this crime should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP (1-800-773-2587). Tips may also be submitted online at this link.
