While it is not getting as much mainstream attention as it used to, the Russian invasion of Ukraine is still going on.
Many local organizations and individuals have stepped up to help those affected by the war, including the Sturgeon Bay-based Door County Candle Company.
We have previously reported on their creation of a candle modeled after the Ukrainian flag, but now they are trying to do even more.
Their latest initiative, which they are calling “Light to Unite”, has the Ukrainian family that owns the candle shop donating $5 for every yellow Lemongrass and blue Lakeshore candles to Razom for Ukraine.
This organization is actively helping the people on the ground in Ukraine and has raised over $57 million in funds.
The Door County Candle Company has raised over $700,000 for Ukrainian support so far, but they hope this latest initiative will push them over the top to the $1 million mark.
