‘I didn’t take the fifth’: Kathy Griffin reacts to Trump’s deposition

Comedian Kathy Griffin responded Wednesday to former President Donald Trump‘s admission that he “declined to answer” questions during his recent deposition with New York Attorney General Letitia James.

Griffin, a comedian who once posed with a prop resembling Trump’s decapitated head for a photo shoot, took to Twitter to share her thoughts.

“What a p**** he is,” Griffin wrote. “I didn’t take the fifth. I went in there, they swore me in & I answered the questions UNDER OATH. They concluded the investigation a few weeks later. Sent me a letter saying I was exonerated.”

Griffin was referring to the Secret Service investigation that was sparked by her controversial photo shoot. Two months after the photo became public in May 2017, she says she was exonerated.

“I am no longer sorry, the whole outrage was B.S., the whole thing got so blown out of proportion and I lost everybody,” Griffin would say of the incident months after reportedly being exonerated. “Like, I had Chelsea Clinton tweeting against me. I had friends, Debra Messing from ‘Will and Grace,’ tweeting against me.”

The comedian was later briefly placed under a Twitter suspension for another tweet of hers that suggested violence against the former president. At the time, she advocated that somebody plunge an air-filled syringe into Trump, which violated the platform’s rules on abusive behavior.
