The Maine State Police Tactical Team was called in to respond to a standoff in Waldo County.

Waldo County Chief Deputy Jason Trundy says dispatchers received a report of a domestic disturbance from a residence on Morse Road in Montville. The call came in around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Trundy says an arrest was made before the tactical team arrived at the scene.

47-year-old Aaron Nickerson of Unity was taken into custody. He faces a number of charges, including kidnapping, criminal threatening, domestic violence terrorizing, and creating a police standoff.

Nickerson was taken to the Waldo County Correctional Center.

No other details about the incident have been released.

Trundy said Wednesday the investigation was still ongoing.
