Authorities are searching for a suspect who fled from officers following a traffic stop.
According to a police report, on Tuesday, a Sergeant with the Albany Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a white Ford Fusion near 3rd Ave and Dawson Rd.
A bolo was issued for the vehicle over the radio, after the driver fled.
An officer later observed the vehicle proceed straight across all four lanes at the intersection of W. Oglethorpe and S. Slappey Blvd.
The officer conducted a traffic stop and the vehicle pulled over in the Checkers parking lot.
Police say, when asked to step out of the vehicle the driver, identified as Ta'keevian Harris drove away at a high rate of speed.
It was discovered that the vehicle had a suspended registration, the report states.
Police say the following warrants will be obtained
- Failure to obey traffic control device
- Suspended vehicle registration,
- Fleeing and eluding a police officer (M),
- Obstruction of a LEO (M),
- Red light violation),
- Stop sign violation X3
- Fleeing and eluding a police officer (F)
