St. Lucie Public Schools superintendent welcomes students back to school
The superintendent of St. Lucie Public Schools personally welcomed students back to class Wednesday.
Dr. Jon Prince started his day at the south county bus depot in Port St. Lucie. He said district officials are excited to be back for a hopefully very normal year.
“Welcome back! We want St. Lucie Public Schools to be the best part of your day so very excited to get all of our students back. And we’ve got a teacher in front of you and we’re ready to go!” Prince said.

After greeting bus drivers at the bus depot, Prince visited Fort Pierce Central High School, before taking a ride to C.A. Moore Elementary School in Fort Pierce standing alongside school administrators and teachers to welcome kids back to their classrooms.
Prince ended his tour at Samuel S. Gaines Academy of Emerging Technologies in Fort Pierce, greeting students inside the school’s ‘auditeria’ (auditorium and cafeteria) and chatting with kids about what they’re excited about this year.
“I’m excited to see all the kids go back and especially him, this is his last year of elementary school, he’s a fifth grader. Preferably, he’ll make it through fifth grade and we’ll send him off to middle school next year,” Jonathan Warthen Sr., a parent of a fifth grader at C.A. Moore Elementary School, said.
