Ruth’s Chris Steak House, the Florida-based franchise known for its famous steaks served on 500-degree sizzling plates, is coming to Melville.
Ruth’s Chris Steak House announced its newest location will open Aug. 15 at 881 Walt Whitman Road in Melville. The opening comes on the heels of the chain opening a restaurant in Lake Grove at the Smith Haven Mall last December.
“We’ve had the pleasure to serve the Long Island community for many years, and are fortunate to make available our one-of-a-kind experience to even more guests in the area,” said William Nicholson, general manager for Ruth’s Chris in Melville. “Ruth’s Chris offers its guests an exclusive dining experience – whether they’re celebrating a special occasion or enjoying an intimate dinner … We look forward to welcoming guests into our restaurant and showcasing the same top-notch service they’re accustomed to from the brand.”
The new 10,684-square-foot restaurant features a main dining room with 168 seats, a luxurious bar with ample seating, and three private dining rooms.
Ruth’s Chris specializes in extra-thick-cut, wet-aged USDA prime steaks, broiled in a trademark 1,800-degree oven. Their menu features not only steaks but fresh seafood, scratch-made side dishes and desserts, craft cocktails and wine selections.
Originating in New Orleans, Ruth’s Chris Steak House legacy began when Ruth Fertel mortgaged her home and purchased a 60-seat restaurant called “Chris’ Steak House.” The franchise now counts over 150 restaurants across the globe.
Ruth’s Chris in Melville will be open seven days a week: Sunday-Thursday, from 4-9 p.m.; Friday, 4-10:30 p.m.; and Saturday, 5-10:30 p.m. The restaurant will also offer its Sizzle, Swizzle, Swirl Happy Hour from 4-6 p.m. every Sunday through Friday.
