GALESBURG — OSF HealthCare and Western Illinois Cancer Treatment Center (WICTC) have signed a letter of intent to integrate WICTC into OSF HealthCare, allowing for an expansion of oncology services in the Western Region. The freestanding radiation treatment center, located at 450 Mayo Dr. in Galesburg, has been serving west-central Illinois and eastern Iowa for 35 years.

According to a news release from OSF, the investment in and partnership with the experienced WICTC physicians and staff is a critical step in building for the future and creating a regional cancer hub to serve the needs of this community and beyond. The goal of the integration of WICTC into OSF HealthCare is to keep patient care local while enhancing the level of cancer care in the Western Region. One goal of this new partnership is to build a strong radiation therapy program that ties seamlessly to the OSF Cancer Institute in Peoria.

Currently, we provide care to several hundred patients with cancer in the upper Western Region. We believe this integration will drive excellence in patient care and experience in oncology for this region,” said Roxanna Crosser, Chief Executive Officer, OSF HealthCare Western Region.

Agreements are slated to be finalized by the end of 2022, with the goal of WICTC to be operating under the OSF HealthCare brand in early 2023, pending integration activities. Additional information will be provided as appropriate.
