LAPD Motorcycle Officer Injured in Pedestrian Collision near 105 Freeway

LOS ANGELES, CA (August 10, 2022) – Thursday night, an officer and one other were hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash on the 110 Freeway.

The accident occurred at 8:05 p.m., along the southbound lanes of the freeway near the Glenn Anderson 105 Freeway.

According to reports, a Los Angeles Police Department officer was knocked off his motorcycle by a 2014 or 2015 white BMW with two male occupants. The collision also injured one other person, though it is currently unclear how the unidentified victim was involved.  Following the collision, the BMW drove off without rendering aid to the officer or the other victim.

Medics arrived shortly after and took both the injured parties to a local hospital for treatment.

Los Angeles officials closed down the southbound 110 Freeway lanes for several hours while authorities investigated the collision and rerouted the traffic onto the Glenn Anderson Freeway.

A driver must stop and take specific actions when involved in a vehicle accident that results in property damage or injury to another party. Remain at the scene. If able, exchange particulars with the other parties involved and document the crash. Doing so can help prevent incidents like the hit-and-run crash on the 110 Freeway.
