A juvenile is in custody after committing multiple crimes, police say.
The initial incident occurred on July 22. Officers responded to the 1300-block of S McKinley Street in reference to a suspicious person.
They made contact with a 16-year-old male juvenile.
Witnesses reported seeing the juvenile with a firearm.
The weapon was later recovered by officers on the scene.
The juvenile was charged with possession of a firearm by a person under the age of 18 and released to his mother.
On August 2, officers were dispatched to Oasis Gas Station in the 1600 Block of W Broad Ave in reference to a shooting.
At the scene, they encountered the same 16-year-old juvenile with a gunshot wound to the hand.
According to APD, he provided officers with a story of how the shooting occurred.
However, the investigation revealed he shot himself in the hand.
Officers recovered the loaded firearm and four individual bags of marijuana.
The juvenile was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a person under 18.
Because of his injuries he was not transported to RYDC.
On Tuesday, officers responded to Skip’s Automotive in the 500 Block of W Oglethorpe Blvd in reference to an audible alarm.
The key holder reported that a white, 2004 Nissan Maxima, cash as well as multiple keys to vehicles on the premises were stolen.
The juvenile from the previously mentioned incidents, was located hiding under one of the vehicles in the parking lot.
He charged with Burglary 2nd degree and transported to Terrell RYDC.
