Dominican Day Parade marks 40th annual celebration in New York City
The National Dominican Day Parade celebrated 40 years of marching on a stretch of Sixth Avenue in Manhattan on Sunday. The parade is a tradition beloved by the Dominican community across New York City, started as a way to celebrate Dominican culture, folklore, and traditions. This year's theme - 40 years of Uplifting, Empowering & Elevating the Dominican Legacy. The parade's Grand Marshal was New York City Department of Transportation commissioner and Dominican Republic native Ydanis Rodriguez. A number of special parade honorees were also featured.
