GREENBELT, Md. (7News) —
A woman was hospitalized Wednesday after she was hit in the leg by a stray bullet through an apartment window in Greenbelt, Md., according to Prince George's County police.

Officers responded to the sound of gunshots in the 8500 block of Greenbelt Road at approximately 4:25 a.m. Police found a woman inside an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
The shooting is believed to have happened outside, and one bullet went through an apartment window and struck the woman, according to a release.
Her injuries do not appear life-threatening, police said, and she does not appear to the intended target.

Detectives are actively investigating this shooting and are currently following up on leads.
