RAIN GARDENERS − Stark Soil & Water Conservation District is accepting registration for the Master Rain Gardener Certification Course, a six-class course providing training to design and install your own rain garden. The course will run 10 a.m. Thursday mornings from Sept. 15 to Oct. 13. Cost is $25, which includes a metal certification sign to display once you graduate. To register, visit the office from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with payment via check or the exact cash required. Seats are limited.

ALLIANCE PARKS − City of Alliance Board of Park Commissioners plans a regular meeting at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Silver Park office, 2930 S. Union Ave.

AHS 1956 − Alliance High School Class of 1956 will meet at 9 a.m. Aug. 16 at Don Pancho’s Tex Mex Cafe, 2105 W. State St. All classmates, friends, spouses are welcome to attend.

GOLF OUTING − The 2022 Sebring Boys Basketball Golf Scramble will be Aug. 27 at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in Columbiana County. The event begins with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. PLANT EXCHANGE – The Master Gardener Volunteers at OSU Extension Mahoning and Columbiana County plan a Bring One, Take One Plant Exchange at 10 a.m. Aug. 20 at the agency’s office, 490 S. Broad St. in Canfield. Check-in begins at 9 a.m. To participate, bring one or more plants and label them with the plant name, flower color, expected height, and growing conditions. There will be up to two more exchange rounds depending on plants available. There also will be a plant, garden art and garden item sale from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Plants will be sourced from MGVs’ gardens and will include natives, shrubs, shade and sun perennials, bulbs and house plants. Master Gardeners will be available to answer your plant questions and help carry your purchases. The sale will include indoor/outdoor decorative items made by MGVs including leaf castings and flowerpots. Learn more about at https://go.osu.edu/boto. SEBRING PARKS − Sebring Village Parks and Recreation Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the East Pavilion in South Side Park. Among items to be discussed at the meeting is a Friends of the Park Fall Program.
