Shelby firefighters battle huge pole barn fire

SHELBY — Shelby firefighters Tuesday battled a large pole barn fire at 4017 Settlement East Road.
The pole barn was engulfed upon firefighters' arrival, Shelby Fire Chief Mike Thompson said. Two garbage trucks were destroyed by fire, which was reported at 3:44 p.m.
Providing mutual aid was Springfield Township, Franklin Township, Crestline and Madison Township fire departments.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined, Thompson said Wednesday.
Firefighters remained on the scene until 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.
