Stacey Abrams tests positive for COVID-19, goes into isolation

ATLANTA — Stacey Abrams announced Wednesday that she has COVID-19.

Abrams campaign that she tested positive for the virus on Wednesday.

Her campaign said Abrams tests daily and tested negative with a PCR test on Monday and negative via rapid test Tuesday before her “Georgia Thrives” economic speech.

Because of the diagnosis, Abrams will be isolating and is canceling campaign events.

Abrams is fully vaccinated and boosted and experiencing mild symptoms.

Abrams’ campaign said she “will isolate at home and looks forward to traveling across the state to meet Georgians as soon as possible.”
