“Health and wellness does not have an age range,” chamber committee chair Chantell McGraw said while discussing the annual Health and Wellness Expo which is taking place this Friday at the SWOSU Wellness Center.

The event will take place from 5-8 p.m. and McGraw said there will be a wide variety of booths for people to discover, and many different businesses will be there to discuss all forms of health.

“This year the big difference is several types of health we are focusing on. We are focusing on mind, body and spiritual health. We have religious organizations, physical health organizations, healthcare and EMS coming to the event. We also are going to have the health department here and they will have a mobile unit outside to do COVID-19 vaccines and health checks,” McCraw said.

Along with businesses being represented at the event, there will also be athletic performances and opportunities for community members to donate towards other peoples’ health.

McGraw said the Oklahoma Blood Institute will be hosting a blood drive during the event. At 5:45 p.m. the Karate Academy will perform and at 6:30 p.m. Nikki Morgan will give a presentation about healthcare rights. Olympic Gold from Clinton will give a gymnastics show at 7 p.m.

McGraw encouraged everyone to come to the Wellness Center Friday and learn from all the different health experts who will be in attendance. “This is really for everybody,” she said.
