Springfield police arrested a man after he reportedly shot a BB gun into a crowd of people on Dickinson Street on Sunday night.
Paul Burbul Jr., 32, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, five counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of malicious damage to a motor vehicle, according to police.
The Springfield Police Department said officers responded to a report of shots fired at the 800 block of Dickinson street on Sunday night at around 9:10 p.m.
Police said Burbul reportedly exited a vehicle and began shooting a BB gun at a group of people. Two victims were struck and were later treated at the scene, police said. A vehicle was also struck.
Burbul was placed under arrest that same night and later charged.
This was one of at least two incidents involving a BB gun Springfield police are looking into this week. The other involved two people who allegedly used a BB gun to shoot a McDonald’s employee through a drive thru window in July. Police are searching for those involved with the McDonald’s incident.
