Despite the fact that more districts started school, it will feel like another scorching summer afternoon outside - especially if your area doesn’t get in the next round of storms expected for later Wednesday.
A flood watch is active for some areas through midnight to account for the heavy rain potential.
A rather quiet morning with some pockets of fog will burn off to some sunshine in for the mid-morning. Combined with the heat and humidity, the next round of showers and storms will fire up in the afternoon. We’ve also got a front near us today which will spark more storms than the past few days.
While still not a washout, more places will get wet today versus the last few days. Over half of the area should see at least one storm this afternoon. If you see one, heavy rain and gusty winds are the main concern, and just like the last few days - a few isolated thunderstorm warnings are possible, too. Highs today are in the 90s.
Things fade by midnight with another round of fog to greet us in the morning. Lows overnight will be in the 70s.
Thursday the front will start to cross the area. A few showers are even possible Thursday morning but most of the action will hold until the afternoon. Thursday is another day where about half of us pick up on rain and storms, especially in the afternoon.
The front crosses late Thursday and really clears us out for a great Friday with lower humidity and Saturday. Typical summer storm chances return again along with the humidity by Sunday and Monday.
