HOUSTON – Deputies with Harris County Sheriff’s Office are investigating after they said a woman was killed and an 18-year-old male was injured in a shooting at an apartment complex in west Harris County Wednesday.
Deputies received reports about a shooting at The Life at Westpark Apartment Complex located at 14100 Rio Bonito Rd. around 2:25 a.m.
Authorities said when they arrived at the scene, they found the male teen and a woman that had been shot in a vehicle about 100 feet away. The teen was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital by Life Flight and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, HCSO said.
According to investigators, the teen said he was with another woman when they found the woman in the vehicle.
Deputies said it is uncertain if the victims knew each other or if they were targeted. No suspect information is available at this time, HCSO said.
Homicide investigators are working to determine what led up to the shooting.
