Events this weekend at park system

ZANESVILLE − Performing Arts in the Parks by the Muskingum Valley Park District will present "Twain's Tales" at 7 p.m. Saturday at Westview Community Park by the Homegrown Players. Bring a chair or blanket. Donations accepted but admission is free.

A read along with free books from the Muskingum County Literacy Council will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Mission Oaks Garden. There will be a musical area and make and take art table.

McCabe joins honor society

BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA − Angela McCabe of Zanesville recently joined the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. She's a student at National Intelligence University.

East Muskingum BOE to meet

NEW CONCORD − East Muskingum Local Schools Board of Education will meet in regular session at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the library of East Muskingum Middle School, 13120 John Glenn School Road, New Concord.

ACPS to have meeting

ZANESVILLE − The Muskingum County Adult and Child Protective Services will meet in regular session at 5 p.m. Sept. 1 at the board office, 205 N. Seventh St.

Scholarship Central adds two

ZANESVILLE − The Muskingum County Community Foundation has added two new staff members for the Scholarship Central Access Program.

Beth Fox will be the director of programs for Scholarship Central. Fox served several roles at Muskingum University. She has a bachelor's degree in psychology from Bluffton University and a master's degree in education with a focus on sports administration from Bowling Green State University.

Andrea Polen is the new program and scholarship manager. She previously worked with the community foundation as an Ohio College Guide for AmeriCorps from 2016 to 2017. Most recently she was a student support adviser and school counselor for the Ohio Digital Learning School. Polen has a bachelor's degree in anthropology from Northern Kentucky University and a master's degree in education from Capital University.
