Having a weapon under disability: Cedar Road
At 1:55 a.m. Aug. 7, University Heights police picked up a man who was walking on Cedar Road following an incident that took place in a car as it traveled in Beachwood.
The man, 30, of Cleveland, had been in a car with a Cleveland woman, 32, when they began to argue. The man struck the woman as she drove, causing her to drive off the road and into a telephone pole. The man then walked away from the car.
The woman refused medical attention.
Beachwood police arrested the man, who possessed a gun, on charges of having a weapon under disability and domestic violence.
Warrant arrest: Richmond Road
At 10:55 a.m. Aug. 3, an officer stopped a car that displayed expired license plates. During the stop, it was learned that the driver, a Cleveland man, 24, was wanted on a Medina police warrant.
Police arrested the man on the warrant and cited him for the expired plates and driving without a license.
Marijuana was found in the car, but police did not charge the man with a drug offense.
Having a weapon under disability: Cedar Road
At 5:35 p.m. Aug. 3, police checked cars parked in the lot of Beachwood Place mall, 26300 Cedar Road, and saw a handgun in plain view inside one vehicle.
When the car’s owner returned, he was arrested for having a weapon under disability, as marijuana was also discovered in the car. Arrested was an Elyria man, 27.
Theft: Richmond Road
At 1:55 p.m. Aug. 4, a man, 42, reported that his gun had been stolen from his car while it was parked in his Richmond Road driveway. The man was unsure whether the car had been locked.
Theft: Cedar Road
At 6 p.m. Aug. 4, police arrested three boys for theft at Saks Fifth Avenue at Beachwood Place. In total, the boys are accused of shoplifting merchandise worth $502.
Arrested were Garfield Heights boys ages 15, 14 and 13.
Theft: Chagrin Boulevard
At 3:15 p.m. Aug. 6, police arrested a Shaker Heights woman, 77, for stealing groceries totaling $32.25 from Giant Eagle, 24601 Chagrin Blvd.
Theft: South Woodland Road
At 12:40 p.m. Aug. 6, a Broadview Heights man, 36, reported that tools, valued at an estimated $1,480, had been stolen from a home construction site.
