Patricia Lytton Sims, 88, formerly of Washington, D.C and Alamo, Tennessee, died peacefully on Monday, July 18, 2022, in Richmond, Virginia. Born in Quicksburg, Virginia, Patricia was the daughter of Pauline (Will) and Tyrus C. Lytton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Sims, whom she married in 1961. They traveled and lived in various parts of the world, always returning to the greater Washington area. They truly enjoyed life together. Pat had a passion for architecture and interior decoration. She loved fashion and wearing bright colors. She was the kind of person who never met a stranger and enjoyed chatting with everyone. As a young woman, Pat worked for the federal government at various agencies. The highlight of her career was her time at the White House as a part of the Reagan administration. She spent her later years as publisher of The Crockett Times, a community newspaper in Alamo. Pat believed that the Lord was guiding her life and watched over the lives of her children and grandchildren. She prayed regularly for all of them. She is survived by her four children, Jacqueline Sims Jasinski (Ken), James B. Sims (Chris), Carolyn Sims and William L. Sims (Lisa). She is also survived by eight siblings and their spouses, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Details of her burial service at Arlington National Cemetery will be announced at a later date.
