A Cherished McDonald's Breakfast Item Is Finally Back On The Menu

What comes to your mind first when you think of fast food breakfasts? For McDonald's, the breakfast menu includes staples like McMuffins, hotcakes, and hash browns, but there are some hacks that you can make to the McDonald's breakfast menu. One beloved McDonald's breakfast option was once breakfast bagel sandwiches. And although the item was taken off the fast-food chain's menu, McDonald's is bringing bagels back.

According to Fox 8 in Cleveland, Ohio, while McDonald's is bringing breakfast bagels back to its menu, there are a few catches. The item is only available for a limited time. The Street writes that McDonald's hasn't specifically stated how long the bagels will be around for and locations appear limited, but the chain did say that four types of bagels will be offered, including Steak, Egg & Cheese; Bacon, Egg & Cheese; Sausage, Egg & Cheese; and Egg & Cheese.

If you're not in Ohio, you will need to check with your local McDonald's to see if they're offering the breakfast favorite. On the McDonald's Facebook page in South Bend, Indiana, the chain announced that breakfast bagels will be sold in the Greater Indiana and Southwest Michigan area. We can always hope that the return goes so well that the chain decides to roll these out nationwide. (After Taco Bell brought back Mexican Pizza, anything feels possible.)

What fans say about McDonald's breakfast bagels

There's a devoted fanbase for McDonald's breakfast bagels, specifically the bagel that is filled with steak, egg, and cheese. And with some locations announcing the return of the beloved breakfast item, fans are celebrating (per Fox 8). One Twitter account, Bring Bagels Back, has been focused solely on tweeting about the breakfast bagels. The account even lists a Change.org petition that asks McDonald's to bring back the steak, egg, and cheese bagel, and the petition has over 20,000 signatures.

Last year, one person posted to Reddit asking whether McDonald's still sold bagel breakfast sandwiches, and people reminisced about the delicious breakfast treat. One person called McDonald's breakfast bagels "greasy magic," and based on the comments, fans really loved the sauce. Luckily, a Reddit user found a copycat recipe for the breakfast sauce, which includes 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise and 1 teaspoon of creamy dill mustard. Even if your local McDonald's isn't getting breakfast bagels back, you can still enjoy one in the comfort of your own kitchen.
