Moxee police say homicides are not common in the area, but they expected this recent one due to an eerie trend they have noticed.
On Saturday morning, police were called to an apartment complex located at 8505 Beauchene Road about a gunshot victim, who turned out to be dead.
Moxee police say they have seen a homicide literally once every ten years- with the last one being back in 2012 and the one before in 2002.
According to Lt. Mark Lewis, although MPD did not know when exactly it would happen, they were expecting a homicide to occur at some point this year given the trend they have seen with homicides in the city.
36 year old Jose Rosario Arellano was found dead in his apartment on Saturday morning.
Lt. Lewis says the call was made by an acquaintance of Arellano’s, adding she had been assaulted during the incident and identified the two suspects.
The Moxee Police Department is looking for 36 year old Trinidad Magana-Chavez and 35 year old Jose Maunel Magana
Lt. Lewis says, “This is not a common occurrence for us and it definitely was not a random attack so... I don't think- as long as people are minding their own business for the most part I don't think they have too much to worry about in Moxee."
Lt. Lewis says it will probably take a long time to find those two suspects since they are believed to have already left the immediate area, but urges the community to let the police know if they see those men.
According to MPD, the suspects were last seen in the East Selah area of Yakima county on Saturday August 6, 2022 at approximately 8:30 AM driving a red 1998 Honda Accord 2-door, WA license ATV7411.
The suspects are still believed to be armed and dangerous.
