Chittenden County State's Attorney candidate Ted Kenney has conceded the race to incumbent Sarah George.Kenney released the following statement on Tuesday night around 9:35 p.m.: "I want to congratulate Sarah George for her fine victory tonight and wish her well in her future work as State’s Attorney. "I especially want to thank my family, my friends and those who support my campaign. The level of my gratitude for their sacrifice, they dedication to our message and their effort cannot be expressed in words. "Lastly, I want to thank those who supported my campaign and my campaign team. They are incredible. "I know that many of those who encouraged me to run are disappointed. I would encourage each of you who work in public safety to work with the State’s Attorney to secure public safety and reform."George said that Kenney has not personally heard from Kenney yet."Even in conceding he hasn't called me himself," she said. "I think that it's telling. I obviously wish Ted the best in whatever he decides to do but I am disappointed in the opportunity. He is a Williston resident and a first-time candidate for office.
