Grand Junction Master Bike Plan in the Works

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Grand Junction has taken the first step towards creating a “Bicycle Master Plan.”

They have begun the selection process to find the 10 to 15 people who will make up the steering committee. The committee will help guide City Council toward ideas that are wanted by the people and inclusive.

Grand Junction city official Tamra Allen said, “we want to make sure that our travel ways for our community and every type of user are safe.”

Bike enthusiast and owner of Brown Cycles Chris Brown said Grand Junction could use more bike lanes but trusts city officials to make the right call because, “A lot of people with the city, in the engineering department, are cyclists.”

Brown maintains, “We are in an amazing community for cycling.”
