Chico State's juiciest annual tradition, "U-Pick-Peaches," returned to the University Farm on Tuesday.
An event that is looked forward to all summer, U-Pick-Peaches gives the community a chance to experience the University Farm as they pick their own peaches.
Peach picking and sales will take place from 8 a.m. to noon from Aug. 9 through Aug. 11. Peaches will be sold for $2 per pound. Visitors will be provided with bags and boxes from the University Farm to pick and take their peaches home with them.
“This event brings visitors of all ages out to enjoy the University Farm, the peaches and everything else we have to offer," says University Farm Director Dave Daley.
We’re pleased to be able to continue providing the fresh-picked local fruit that has become such a summertime tradition in our community.
The University Farm sold over 21,000 pounds of peaches last year. The proceeds from the sales go toward supporting the College of Agriculture's orchard program.
