Former Kentucky State Rep. charged with first-degree rape

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WZTV) —
Former Kentucky State Rep. John Tilley was charged with rape to the first degree Monday regarding a Special Victims Investigation which happened earlier this year.

Lexington Police Department confirms that Tilley turned himself in.
Tilley was a state representative from 2006 to 2015. He oversaw the state's prison system under former Gov. Matt Bevin as the state’s Justice and Public Safety Cabinet from Dec. 2015 to 2019.
