In Bozeman, people camping in RVs will need to find a new parking spot now that city street cleaning is underway.
The HRDC worked with the city of Bozeman three weeks ahead of time notifying people living on the streets of the planned cleanup.
“To make sure that people, as they know what's coming, that their time there is going to be limited, but also connecting them with some short-term needs, with the heat, things like cold water and making sure that they know that the warming center is open,” HRDC housing department director Brian Guyer said.
RVs only need to be moved while streets are worked on. The cleanup runs through Aug. 11.
“The one thing that we are finding is the people who are urban camping are primarily part of our workforce. They are the people who are working in our service industry, working in our hotel industry. They've been here for a long time, and it has just been left behind by a rapidly escalating housing market that doesn't have any places that are affordable for them,” Guyer said.
