Louisville rapper EST Gee, sneaker store give out 300+ new shoes to local kids
AHEAD OF TIME. MORE THAN $50,000 WORTH OF BRAND NEW SHOES AND BOOK BAGS FULL OF SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND EVEN IPADS WERE HANDED OUT TODAY ON BARDSTOWN ROAD AT THE ONE BOUTIQUE SHOP. JUST A BEAUTIFUL FEELING TO GIVE BACK TO THE CITY THAT WE KNOW WE REPRESENT. IT WAS SHOULDER TO SHOULDER. OUTSIDE THE BOUTIQUE STORE TUESDAY MORNING AS FAMILIES WAITED FOR THE GIVEAWAY, 300 PAIRS OF BRAND NEW JORDANS AND NIKE’S 100 PAIRS FOR ELEMENTARY, 100 FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL AND 100 FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WERE GIVEN OUT. ALL THANKS TO LOUISVILLE NATIVE AND RAPPER EAST ME HERO. BASICALLY SAYING HE WANTED TO DO SOMETHING TO GIVE BACK THE KIDS AND MAKE A DONATION. YOU KNOW, GOING BACK TO SCHOOL. SO WE WANTED TO MATCH HIM OR WHATEVER HE WANTED TO DO. SO WHY WE’RE HERE TODAY. RYAN MOSS IS WITH ONENESS. WE WANT TO PUT SMILES ON KIDS FACES AND HELP OUT PARENTS WHO CAN’T NECESSARILY, YOU KNOW, PROVIDE THE WAY THEY NEED TO, ESPECIALLY IN THESE TOUGH TIMES THAT EVERYBODY HAS GOING ON NOW. ALISHA FLOYD, WHOSE SON AUSTIN PASSED AWAY IN 2020, SAYS SHE WOULD BE PROUD OF WHAT HIS FRIENDS ARE DOING NOW, GIVING BACK TO THEIR HOMETOWN. I AM SO PROUD OF THESE YOUNG MEN. THEY’VE DONE SUCH GREAT THINGS WITH THEIR LIVES, GIVING OUT THE SUPPLIES TOOK SOME TIME, WHICH CAUSED SOME FRUSTRATION AS FAMILIES WAITED FOR TWO PLUS HOURS IN THE HEAT. I MOSTLY THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO GET LIKE A BELL. AT LEAST ONE PARISH, ONE OR TWO PAIRS OF SHOES AT THE MOST. BUT WE WAS ACTUALLY ABLE TO GET MORE, SO I’M ACTUALLY HAPPY ABOUT THAT. DESPITE THE WEIGHT SINCE SMITH AND HER FAMILY LEFT WITH SMILES ON THEIR FACES AS THEY NOW HAVE NEW SHOES AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES AHEAD OF THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL, IT WAS STILL WORTH IT. IT WAS YOU WOULD DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN IF YOU COULD. YEAH.
