A Hillsboro man was sentenced to a total of 48 months in Highland County Common Pleas Court for two charges of aggravated trafficking of drugs in the vicinity of a school zone.
Justin Conley, 42, was sentenced to 24 months for aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine in the vicinity of a school zone, a third-degree felony, which was ordered to be consecutive to his sentencing of 24 months for aggravated trafficking in fentanyl in the vicinity of a school zone, also a third-degree felony.
Conley was given six days of jail-time credit.
Court records state that factors in Conley’s sentencing included that Conley had a prior felony or previous misdemeanor offense of violence within the last two years and that the most serious offense to which the defendant was being sentenced was not a felony of the fourth or fifth degree. Another factor included that at the time of the offense, Conley was serving or had previously served a prison sentence.
Court records also stated that a period of supervision under conditions determined by the Adult Parole Authority after his release from prison was found to be optional.
“If the defendant is sentenced to prison for a felony of the third degree that is not a felony of violence or a felony sex offense, or for a felony of the fourth or fifth-degree, after his/her release, he/she will be subject to up to two years of post-release control supervision at the option of the Adult Parole Authority,” court records stated.
They also stated that Conley would be ordered to pay restitution of $482.94 to the Highland County Task Force alongside his co-defendant through the Victim Restitution Escrow Account of the Highland County Victim Witness Office. It also said that Conley’s order to pay a fine was waived.
According to court documents for the first count, on or around July 14, 2021, Conley and a co-conspirator knowingly sold or offered to sell meth in the vicinity of a school zone.
According to court documents for the second count, on or around July 14, 2021, Conley and a co-conspirator knowingly sold or offered to sell a fentanyl-related compound in the vicinity of a school zone.
