West Liberty University’s new dining partners are bringing a new menu – and a new look.
The school has partnered with Aladdin Campus Dining, also seen locally at Wheeling University and The Linsly School.
And with a freshman move-in day rapidly approaching, renovations are taking shape and new menu items are being added.
"We are going to add two new quick service restaurants - Chilaca, a take on a Mexican street food, and WeBurg, the classic American burger," said Nancy Goplerud, food service director, Aladdin Campus Dining.
And coffee lovers will get their franchise fix as a new coffee shop will serve Starbucks products.
There’s more.
"We are putting a pizza vending machine in,” Goplerud said. “And they are so excited to be getting a pizza ATM."
So far, many renovations have been finished, like the student union's ball room now has new floors, paint jobs and store fronts waiting for its finishing touches.
"West Liberty was looking for a partner to bring new ideas, students are ever-increasingly wanting new ideas when deciding things, and it was our chance," Goplerud said.
The construction process started immediately as Aladdin’s contract went into effect on July 1.
Freshmen move in on Aug. 19, and the renovations are expected to be finished by then.
