A Decatur man who injured a baby, leaving him in a medically induced coma, was sentenced to more than a decade behind bars.
35-year-old Christopher Pulliam pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated battery to a child.
He was sentenced to 12 years.
Decatur Police were called to a Decatur Memorial Hospital on Dec. 6, 2021, after a baby who was not breathing was brought in.
The 9-month-old infant's grandmother, who is also his legal guardian, told authorities she picked him up from his aunt's home.
When the grandmother realized 9-month-old Kash wasn't breathing, she rushed him to the hospital.
Doctors found Kash has a left parietal skull fracture.
The grandmother told officers she first noticed a "soft spot" when she picked up Kash from where the infant was spending time with his aunt and her fiancee, Christopher Pulliam.
According to a sworn affidavit, police watched a security camera video from inside the home.
The video showed Pulliam hitting the infant in the head on multiple occasions.
Police arrested Pulliam on Dec. 9, 2021.
Once released from prison, he will have a 3-year mandatory supervised release.
