Man killed at Serigny Drive, subject may have acted in self-defense

UPDATE (9:29 p.m.): Mobile Police released new information about a shooting that happened Tuesday, Aug. 9 at Faure Drive E. and Serigny Drive.

Officers were called to the scene and found a 38-year-old man lying in the roadway. He was taken to a hospital, but later died from his injuries. Investigators believe that the subject may have acted in self-defense.

The case will be presented to a grand jury, according to Mobile Police. The grand jury will decide if the subject will be indicted for a crime. When someone is indicted for a crime, they are formally accused of committing a crime. If they are not indicted, then they will not be charged.

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Mobile Police are on scene of a shooting where one man was injured. 

Mobile Police confirmed that the man’s injuries are life-threatening. The shooting happened at Faure Drive E. and Serigny Drive. Mobile Police have detained one person.
