You can earn Avios on some JetBlue flights: Here's when and how
Earlier this year, Qatar Airways Privilege Club adopted Avios as its points currency. Soon after the switch from Qmiles to Avios, Qatar launched Avios transfers.
As a reminder, Avios is now the points currency for British Airways Executive Club, Iberia Plus, Aer Lingus AerClub, Qatar Airways Privilege Club and Vueling Club. But you can earn Avios when flying on many other airlines that partner with these programs.

Recently, there was excitement in the award travel community after a traveler successfully credited a transatlantic JetBlue flight to Qatar Airways Privilege Club and then reported their experience to Head for Points.
In particular, this traveler reported earning 8,642 Avios for a round-trip JetBlue Mint ticket from London to New York — which matches what you'd expect based on Qatar's calculator — by adding their Privilege Club number to their JetBlue booking.
The ability to earn Avios on JetBlue flights when crediting to Qatar's Privilege Club might seem obvious. But some frequent travelers think of how you can't earn American Airlines AAdvantage miles on transatlantic JetBlue flights and assume the same might be true for Qatar Privilege Club. However, this isn't the case.

The partner page for JetBlue on Qatar's website notes that "Privilege Club members can earn Avios when flying on JetBlue marketed and operated flights" and then provides the following table:

But you won't earn Avios through Privilege Club on all JetBlue flights. For example, you can't earn Avios when flying JetBlue if your flight is to or from Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon or Washington.
Additionally, your flight must be marketed by and operated by JetBlue — meaning you must buy your flight from JetBlue and it must have a JetBlue flight number — to earn Avios when crediting to Qatar Privilege Club.

Bottom line
If you plan to credit your JetBlue flight to Qatar Airways Privilege Club, check that you're not flying to or from an excluded state and that your fare class is eligible.
If you're looking for other ways to earn Qatar Avios, remember you can transfer from Marriott Bonvoy and Citi ThankYou. You can also move Avios between the various programs that use Avios as their loyalty currency. So if you earn Qatar Avios on a JetBlue flight, you should be able to move those Avios to British Airways, Iberia or another Avios program.
