Sheldon, Iowa — It’s a way to help out families in the school district, plus it’s a chance for public relations for the police department. That describes Sheldon’s Shop With A Cop program.
The shopping is done at back-to-school time, says Sheldon Police Chief Scott Burtch.
He says the families are chosen a certain way.
Burtch tells us how it works.
He says it’s a good way for the kids and officers to see each other in a positive environment.
The chief has a message for those involved.
The shopping with the cops was done this Tuesday, August 9th.
