EARLIER:
Soddy-Daisy's former police chief faces a citation after he was accused of punching a man who insulted his wife, according to a Hamilton County Sheriff's Office report.
An assault citation was issued for Jeff Gann Saturday.
According to an incident report, Gann and another man started yelling at each other at a Circle K gas station on Dayton Pike on Saturday.
According to the report, the two have history together dating back to July 4th, 2018 when Gann told the man he couldn't ride his four-wheeler in the street.
At the time, the report says Gann told the man he worked for Soddy-Daisy police and told him "I got this job to put people like you in jail."
Gann told HCSO that whenever the man sees him he curses at him and flips him the bird.
During the altercation at the gas station on Saturday the report says the man insulted Gann's wife by calling her a "b****" and then Gann hit him.
The report says the men started fighting and after Gann was shoved to the ground he told the man that he would kill him the next time he sees him and then left.
