King City Council Approves City Tax Levy

King City’s Board of Aldermen approved the tax levy for the year at their session Monday night. The tax levy will be $1.06 per hundred dollars of assessed valuation. The levy will include 74 cents to the General Fund. 15 cents will be directed to the Police Fund.

Council members received an update from their Code Enforcement Officer regarding violation letters. The first letters have been sent out. Those not responding to the violation or the city’s notice will receive a second certified letter and will have 15 days to respond. If there is no response, the matter will be directed to the City Attorney.

Council members gave permission to the King City Chamber of Commerce to allow a beer garden at a Pumpkin Fest event that is planned on October 15th. The city will also contribute $250 towards entertainment for the event.

King City City Hall will close on August 25th from 8am until 12pm for training.

Council members approved a propane supplier.

King City continues to seek a candidate for an open police officer position.
