A Jefferson County man died Monday after New York State Police say he was ejected from his car after losing control and hitting a utility pole.
Troopers responded to Bailey Settlement Road in the Town of Alexandria on Monday around 7 p.m. after reports of a single car crash.
During an initial investigation, troopers found that 47-year-old Steven Shoulette of Redwood was driving north on Bailey Settlement Road when he lost control of his car and exited the west shoulder, hitting a utility pole and stopping over an embankment off the west shoulder.
Troopers say Shoulette was ejected from his car during the accident.
He was transported to a hospital in the Village of Alexandria Bay, where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation into this incident is active and ongoing.
