Adjunct Instructor Interest Fair to be held at Meridian’s South Campus in Guthrie August 25

Meridian Technology Center will begin offering training at its South Campus on March 21. The South Campus is located at 3025 S. Division St. in Guthrie.

STILLWATER, Okla. – From Tips and Tricks in Microsoft Word to Traditional Italian Cooking, Meridian Technology Center is seeking a range of adjunct instructors to lead short courses at the new South Campus in Guthrie.

Short courses are led by instructors who are content experts with a passion for a particular topic. Courses offered are based on interest from Meridian district residents and finding an instructor with that specialization.

Meridian will host a come-and-go Interest Fair at the South Campus from 4-7 p.m. on August 25 to visit with prospective adjunct instructors for short course offerings. Content experts in the areas of culinary, computers, health care, leadership and staff development, general personal interest, and safety courses are being sought.

“We’re always looking to expand the types of courses we offer and the instructors who teach them. Most of our instructors are people with a solid knowledge of their content area because they either work in that specific field or have invested time developing their knowledge in a particular area,” said Titus Lester, Meridian’s Coordinator of Adult Training and Development.

Each semester Meridian offers hundreds of courses. Many professional development short courses have classes during both the day and evening hours and often meet one or two times during the week. “We need instructors with knowledge ranging from aromatherapy to Office 365 to health care,” said Lester.

To provide a look at the type of courses Meridian offers, prospective instructors can view Meridian’s newest catalog at meridiantech.edu/catalog. If there is a short course that you would like to see offered at Meridian or if there’s a course you’d love to lead, you can also contact Titus Lester at titusl@meridiantech.edu or (405) 377-3333.
