A local nonprofit wants the public to know there is help available.

Eyewitness News sat down with Suzanne Beck, CEO of the victim’s resource center in Wilkes-Barre.

She wants survivors to know they aren’t alone and that there is a support group available to them.

“We can have survivors meet with and talk to other homicide survivors, and those are truly the only people who can say, I know how you feel,” stated Beck.

The victim’s resource center is available 24 hours a day. They can also provide victims compensation.

“In cases of homicide that can cover funeral expenses, it can cover a large variety of different types of expenses and a lot of people aren’t aware of that,” explained Beck.
