New hotel breaks ground in downtown Fresno

A groundbreaking ceremony was held in downtown Fresno for a new hotel on Tuesday.

Axis Hotel Group Inc. is building a Courtyard by Marriott at 808 M St., next to the Fresno Convention Center and across from the Saroyan Theatre.

This new addition will be the 7th hotel to the Axis Hotel Group portfolio.

The hotel will have 5 floors with 144 rooms, and a ballroom of about 3600 square feet.

This will help add an additional 144 rooms to the downtown Convention market for the City of Fresno.

The hotel will also offer Bar, Bistro, Starbucks and Catering onsite.

Construction will take about 2 years.
