Sharon K. Coker, 77, of Hillsboro died Aug. 1, 2022, at her home. Mrs. Coker was a member and treasurer of the Coalition for Animal Rescue and Education (C.A.R.E.) as well as a member of A.C.L.U., P.E.T.A. and Defenders of Wildlife. Born Dec. 8, 1944, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late Lavina (McClelland) and Darold Pitzer Sr.
She is survived by her husband: Donald Coker Sr. of Hillsboro; a son: Jason (Carre) Coker of St. Louis; a daughter: Nicole (Harry) Bauer of Fenton; two brothers: Darold (Pat) Pitzer Jr. of Joliet, Ill., and Randy (Julie) Pitzer of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters: Carole Pitzer of Affton and Denise Pitzer of Pevely; two grandsons: Aidan Bauer and Colton Coker; a daughter-in-law: Linda Coker of Florida; and her pet, Stella. She was preceded in death by a son: Donald Coker Jr.
Funeral services and burial were private. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.
