Indiana has a new play-caller in 2022, but the signal-caller has yet to be decided.

Walt Bell, in his first seasons with the Hoosiers, was asked about the quarterback competition when speaking to reporters on Tuesday. Mizzou transfer Connor Bazelak has been seen as the favorite to get the nod, but Indiana has yet to name a starter.

Bell said he’s pleased with what he has seen from Bazelak as well as Jack Tuttle. He also praised the play of Dexter Williams, Dustin Dopirak of Bloomington Herald-Times and Indianapolis Star shared.

Bazelak was a multi-year starter at Mizzou. Tuttle, a redshirt senior, has played in 14 total games over 3 seasons with the Hoosiers, making a handful of starts. Williams redshirted in 2020 and then missed the 2021 season due to a spring injury.

We’ll see how the competition plays out.
