Yucca Elementary staff pointed parents and students to their respective classrooms during an open house at the elementary school on Aug. 8.

The Open house began with a short presentation by Yucca Elementary School Principal Dr. Christina Trujillo about what to expect including bell schedules, pick up and drop off instructions, upcoming security measures such as the students being required to wear IDs, how parents can contribute and support systems for students.

"We are so excited to have you here, our staff has worked so hard," Trujillo said. "I'm so excited to meet you and to be here tonight."

Before getting into the main agenda for the evening, Trujillo mentioned some issues with the class lists.

"If your child is not on the class list, it doesn't mean they are not in class, we're still working on it," Trujillo said. "It's just one of those logistical issues. Just bear with us."
