Court records said a woman who worked in the Kanawha County Clerk’s Office has been charged after she was accused of taking more than $21,000 that residents had paid in back taxes and using it for her own personal use.
Elizabeth Marie Samson, 44, of Elkview is charged with embezzlement, according to a criminal complaint filed Tuesday in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
