Kentucky man killed, 3 others injured in collision with Mack truck in Cullman County

A Kentucky man was killed in a crash with a Mack truck in Cullman County.

Alabama State Troopers identified the fatality victim as Conor J. Nelis. He was 22 and lived in Louisville.

The wreck happened at 9 a.m. Monday on Cullman County 222 near Interstate 65. That location is about one mile south of Good Hope.

Authorities said Nelis was a passenger in a 2013 Ford Focus that was struck by a 2015 dump truck driven by 71-year-old John M. Brown of Vinemont.

Nelis was pronounced dead at the scene, said Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey. Brown was not injured.

The driver of the Ford, 23-year-old Madison L. Morgan, was injured and taken to Cullman Regional Medical Center, Bailey said.

Two additional passengers from the Ford were also injured. Justin Deutsch, 26, was also taken to Cullman Regional. Garrett T. Schaffner, 25, was airlifted to UAB Hospital.

The crash remains under investigator by Alabama State Troopers.
