Lincoln Police are investigating a pair of vandalism cases that they say are related. Around 4:00 Monday afternoon officers took the report of a vehicle vandalism occurring at Holmes Lake Park north shore.
“The victim reported parking at Holmes Lake north shore near the restrooms between 1:45 – 2:00 p.m. When he returned to his vehicle, a 2018 green Subaru Forester, he observed black spray paint on the rear hatch,” says Sergeant Chris Vollmer.
He says an additional report was taken from another man who says he parked near the ballfields on north shore around 2:30 p.m. to go fishing. When he returned to his 2008 White Ford Explorer, he observed that someone had sprayed black paint on the rear driver’s quarter panel and rear hatch of his vehicle.
“In both incidents the paint did not appear to be any obvious symbol or lettering,” Vollmer says. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Lincoln Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
