Update: A missing 15-year-old boy has been found safe, according to the Bristol, Virginia Police Department.
The search for a gun remains ongoing, according to Bristol, Virginia Police Department Lt. Steve Crawford.
"He did not have possession of the gun when he was found so we still are looking for the gun," Crawford said in a statement to News 5. "The gun was kept in a locked safe in his mother's room before the theft. We have been in touch with the schools and we do not believe there is any danger to the school."

A missing 15-year-old boy may be in possession of a handgun, according to the Bristol, Virginia Police Department.
The teen was last seen at his Bristol home on August 7 at around 4 p.m. He is described as 5-foot-5 and weighs 160 pounds, police said. He has brown hair and blue eyes and was last seen wearing dark gray sweatpants, a dark gray shirt, white athletic shoes, and a red baseball hat, according to police.
